After nearly a decade in Financial Services and Retail, I was ready to strike out on my own by co-founding the now-leading digital payments company TranServ. My decade-long stint with companies such as HSBC Bank, ICICI Bank and Maruti Suzuki had prepared me for building and managing large teams, distributing various products across multiple customer segments, and raising capital for ventures. Prior to TranServ I was working with HSBC Bank spearheading various National/Business portfolios for products like Cards, Loans and Mortgages.

All of this allowed me to play a critical role in the transformation of TranServ from a concept to a full-fledged FinTech company spread across 20 states with 25k+ network participants and 3+ million consumers. When we sold the company to the IndiaBulls Group in March 2019, we were able to make a successful full-cash exit that earned rich returns for all its investors.

Having spearheaded my own start-up venture, which involved raising multiple rounds of institutional capital and guiding the organisation through its many phases, it was time for me to begin contributing to the startup fraternity. As an active angel investor and startup enthusiast, I had already worked closely with many startup founders, and offered guidance to new founders. Mentoring and supporting other startup founders has now grown to become a passion. The two guiding principles that I evaluate closely before investing in a start-up are ‘Purpose’ and ‘People’; the rest can grow from there.
